SA VENUE COMMERCIAL PRIORITIES CHECK
A practical worksheet to help owners and managers choose the next useful business decision. Free to use, with no sign-up required.

Download the free fillable worksheet (PDF)
Two pages. Complete digitally or print and bring to your next planning conversation.

Find your next priority.

For each prompt, choose 0 — not visible; 1 — partly tracked; or 2 — consistently reviewed with an owner. Your answers are discussion prompts, not a certified financial health rating or a prediction of profit. You do not need to share private business figures.

Twelve useful questions

01. Can we see contribution by service period or revenue stream?

02. Are labour plans reviewed against demand and the service we want to deliver?

03. Are food and beverage costs, waste and stock variances reviewed consistently?

04. Are supplier terms, price changes and menu decisions considered together?

05. Do we know which offers, occasions and guest groups matter most to growth?

06. Do sales activity and partnerships have clear priorities and review measures?

07. Can we see where function enquiries come from and what happens next?

08. Do campaigns and events have a commercial objective and a full cost view?

09. Is there a practical, permission-based way to reconnect with guests?

10. Are our POS, bookings, guest data and reporting workflows understood and owned?

11. Do team standards support the food and beverage experience we want to deliver?

12. Do our next three priorities have owners, dates and a review measure?

Turn the answers into action

Choose the three least visible items, then select the one that matters most over the next 90 days. Write the decision it should enable, the person who owns it, the information needed and a review date. A low score is a useful starting question, not evidence that a business is failing.

Want a tailored review?
